Tour of the Museum of Carriages of Siano, and the Archaeological Park of Roccelletta
Every Monday in the afternoon, starting h. 15,30 p.m.
Guided visit on the marvellous Museum of Carriages, where you can admire a lot of ancient carriages from XVI to XVIII century. The Museum keeps the famous carriage of the film “Going on the wind”. Close the Museum there is an important oil-mill, where is possible to taste and to buy some typical gastronomic products of Calabria. At 17,15-p.m. bus start to the Archaeological Park of Roccelletta di Borgia, a Roman and Greek site, plunged into an ancient olive-groove, with statues, columns, an amphitheatre and the remains of an ancient Basilica. At 19,00-p.m. bus will start to come back to the hotel.
Tour of the town of Crotone and archaeological site of Capo Colonna.
Every Friday morning, starting at 7,15 a.m.
Crotone is an ancient town founded by Greeks in the VI century before Christ. People can visit the Archaeological National Museum with English guide, the Castle of King Carlo V, and the Cathedral of XII century. After these visits you will have one hour free to walk in downtown to visit shops. Coming back, bus stops at the archaeological site of Capo Colonna, in front of Jonio sea, where remains one of the 24 columns of the ancient Greek temple of Hera Lacinia. At 12,00 am, bus will start to come back in hotel.
Tour of the city of Santa Severina
Every Friday in the afternoon, starting at 14,00 p.m.
Santa Severina, the ancient Siberene, is a little nice city founded by Greeks. For long time it was an important site for Orthodox Church. There was born Saint Zaccaria, who was Pope in Rome from 741 to 752 after Christ. Participants of tour will visit the castle built by Normans in XI century, and the Cathedral of Santa Anastasia (XIII century). At 18,30-p.m. bus will start to come back to the hotel.
Free Tour of Le Castella
Every afternoon of Tue-Wed-Thu-Fry, starting at 14,00 pm
Le Castella is one of the most famous tourist places of the cost of Jonio Sea. It is famous for his castle built during the XII century, upon a little island in the middle of the sea, by ancient Spanish people called Aragonesi. Actually the castle is under repairs, but you can visit the strong ramparts, from where is possible to have an unforgettable panoramic view on the Jonio Sea. The costs of Le Castella are part of the National Sea Park of Isola Capo Rizzuto, where everyone can admire a lot of marvellous depths remaining aboard of a boat with glass bottom. At 19,15-p.m. bus will start to come back to the hotel.
